Student Success Advisor

Job Description:
In collaboration with the Dean for Enrollment Operations and Welcome Center Services, the Director of Student Success Services, and other college staff and faculty, this individual will be responsible for providing learning-centered, strengths-based support to students through individual and group advisement and other programs related to the success and retention of Tompkins Cortland Community College students.
This position is within the Faculty Association Union. Candidates must currently reside or be willing to relocate to New York State at time of employment. Additionally, maintaining New York State residency will be required for the duration of employment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and minimum of one years’ experience in academic advising, teaching, or providing support services to students in a postsecondary environment (may include equivalent paraprofessional experience) or Master’s degree. Nanotechnology - Visiting Teaching Faculty

Job Description:
Tompkins Cortland Community College is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable faculty member to lead the work of the College in Nanotechnology. Building on the College micro credential and new, $650,000 lab, the goal of this position is to develop new curriculum, an AAS and/or AS, degree programs and associated coursework in Nanotechnology for SUNY and State approval and to teach these new curricula. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nanoscience, materials science, physical chemistry, or a related field, and a passion for student success in a community college setting. This position involves teaching, curriculum development, student advising, and collaboration with industry partners to ensure workforce relevance. The successful candidate will receive a 50% reduced teaching load in their first year to build the new program(s).

Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated teaching experience at the college level (community college experience preferred). Industry experience in nanotechnology or related sectors. Experience with curriculum development and accreditation processes. Familiarity with grant writing and managing funded projects. Bilingual or multilingual abilities.

Expected Hiring Salary Range:
For Adjunct Faculty, rates are pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement between Tompkins Cortland Community College and the TC3 Adjunct Association. For each credit, entry pay rate is $1,105 - $1,165 dependent upon experience.

The Lifeguard’s primary responsibilities are to provide patron surveillance of the pool area; prevent injuries by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviours; and to enforce facility rules and regulations and educate patrons about them. The TC3 Farm, located in Dryden, NY, grows approximately 3 acres of organically grown fruits and vegetables. Since 2014, our produce has been distributed to the community through CSA, Farm Stands, Campus Dining, Coltivare and local restaurants. The Farm strives to create a fun, yet efficient and challenging work environment. The Farm is an integral part of an multi-faceted operation that supports the academic programs of Tompkins Cortland Community College by growing, marketing, and distributing organic produce and providing a hands-on learning lab environment for students.
